Noel León won this Sunday (26) the main race of the ninth round of the 2026 Formula 2 season, held at the Hungaroring circuit in Hungary. The Campos Racing driver started from third position, moved up one spot at the start and took the lead after the pit stops, benefiting from changing tires during a Virtual Safety Car period, securing the victory.

Second position ended up in the hands of Kush Maini, ART Grand Prix driver who started from pole position, but who has an ongoing investigation due to a possible pit stop infraction. Brazilian Rafael Câmara, from Invicta Racing, completes the podium in third place, followed by Laurens van Hoepen, fourth with Trident. Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, from ART Grand Prix, closed the top-5.
Dino Beganovic, with a DAMS car, finished the race in sixth position, ending just ahead of Nikola Tsolov, championship leader and seventh with Campos Racing. Joshua Durksen, from Invicta Racing, was eighth, while Gabriele Mini, from MP Motorsport, closed the race in ninth. John Bennett, from Trident, completed the top-10. Emmo Fittipaldi finished in 18th position with AIX Racing.

The race had only one incident throughout its 37 laps. Rafael Villagómez’s car, the driver who defends Van Amersfoort, stopped on the track with problems, causing the activation of the Virtual Safety Car on the 17th lap of the race. It was at this moment that León went to the pits, before the neutralization.
Formula 2 will now have its holiday break and returns on September 4, 5 and 6 with the Italian round, at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.
