Young Brazilian driver in the Porsche Supercup, Matheus Ferreira returned to the podium this Sunday (19) with third place among the rookies in the Formula 1 preliminary race. The Brazilian from the GP Elite team started in the fifth row and finished the race in ninth place overall, showing a good pace in a very intense race.

“It was a really cool race, very busy, fighting practically every lap. I had already gained some positions until a driver went off into the gravel in front of me, I got a bit stuck behind him, but I recovered well and I can be happy with the race I had today,” explains Matheus.
Rookie in the Porsche Supercup in 2026, Matheus Ferreira had already been on the podium among the rookies at the Monaco round. In addition to this competition, the Brazilian competes in the German Porsche Cup, where he has also collected podiums, one of which was achieved precisely at Spa-Francorchamps in the May round.

“Happy to be on the podium again at Spa. We made good use of all the laps and showed a good pace, extracting the maximum possible from the car and that is what we take as the most positive for Budapest next week,” Ferreira adds.
The Porsche Supercup returns with the fifth round at Hungaroring on July 26, opening the second half of the season.
