The Uruguay Racing Team will have an important novelty in the next stage of the TCR South America. The Uruguayan team will incorporate a Hyundai Elantra N TCR into its structure, which will be driven by Joaquín Cafaro on the weekend of August 22 and 23, at the Autódromo Oscar Cabalén, in Córdoba, Argentina.

The arrival of the model is part of the Uruguay Racing Team’s evaluation process for the 2027 season. The team is studying the possibility of making a brand change and expanding its options within TCR South America. In this scenario, the Elantra N TCR will be used as a new technical alternative, allowing the team to get to know the car and analyze its competitive potential before defining the project for next year.
For Cafaro, the opportunity also represents an important step in his development in the category, especially because he can work with one of the most winning models on the TCR platform worldwide. The driver highlighted the expectation for the new challenge and the importance of testing to gather information that helps the team make a decision about 2027:
