Guenther Steiner, former Haas Formula 1 team principal and current co-owner of Tech3 in MotoGP, has adopted a more observant profile in this, his first season in the motorcycle category, evaluating the team’s work instead of implementing immediate changes. In an interview with the championship’s official channel, Steiner spoke about the differences between the two sports and the skill required of the riders:

“For me, MotoGP is new. I consider it one of the most exciting sports in the world, if not the most exciting,” he said. “When you get involved, it’s always surprising how competitive this sport is. How much the rider influences the race here is unbelievable.”
Regarding the complexity of riding, he stated: “What these guys do on a bike is unbelievable. We all think we know how to ride a motorcycle, but it’s not ‘riding a motorcycle’! It’s piloting an incredible machine at a very high level.”

And he commented on the risk involved: “You see it on TV, so imagine doing what they do. For me, as a human being, it’s impossible. They fall, get up, and run to get back on the bike again. You need to be of a special breed to do that!”
Tech3’s future beyond 2027 is uncertain, with rumors of a change in engine supplier to Honda or Ducati. For now, Steiner continues to absorb the nuances of the new sport, comparing MotoGP with his experience in F1.
