In the endurance racing championship, grid positions are calculated based on the average of the two competitors in the car. The first goes on track, usually the main driver, followed by the second, the guest.

In the Algarve, the teammates of Porsche #544 achieved a time of 1m46.2s for the honor position on the grid in Portugal. Therefore, they could not be more satisfied to start the 300km of Algarve on the right foot – it is worth mentioning that this is the first time Marçal and Gaetano have teamed up in the Porsche Cup.

“Just want to thank the whole team that made a very good car for us. I made some mistakes during the previous practice sessions, but in the qualifying lap I managed to fit in and Gaetano did an excellent average so that, on average, we got the pole position which is my 29th of my career. So, I am very happy,” said Marçal.
“I am very happy, first I want to thank Marçal for the invitation, it’s very cool to be here partnering with him, he is the current champion, has been dominating the category this year and managed to do a good job. There is still a lot ahead, but I think it was a good start for us, a beautiful lap from my partner and we will continue the work towards our final goal,” concluded Di Mauro.
