Gerson Campos secured a wire-to-wire victory in the first race of the Porsche Cup Sprint Challenge at Interlagos. On this wet Saturday (5), the competitor was never threatened to climb to the top step of the podium.

For the first race of the Sprint Challenge weekend, Gerson was the one who started from pole position, sharing the front row with Enrico Pedrosa. Daniel Neumann and Caio Castro complete the second row.
The asphalt was still quite wet for this afternoon at Interlagos, forcing the drivers to keep the windshield wiper at full speed. However, the rain had given a momentary break.
Even with the safety car still on the track, the timer was started, officially beginning the Porsche Cup Sprint Challenge race.
With five minutes already completed, the race was started – or restarted. Gerson managed to maintain first place with Pedrosa behind, but needing to hold off attacks from Neumann and Castro, who was starting to close in.
In a battle for position, Neumann then gave Enrico a nudge, who went off track and the pair ended up touching. Pedrosa maintained second place.
Three laps completed and the order on track was Campos first with more than 2s advantage. Pedrosa, Neumann, Caio Castro, and Sadak Leite completing the top five positions.

Then, on the climb to the café, on the outside, Caio managed to leave Daniel behind to take third place.
While the top four positions remained the same, Cecilia Rabelo, sixth, closed in on Nicholas Garfinkel. In the fight for position, the competitor took advantage of Nicholas spinning and took fifth place and the lead in the Challenge Sport class.
But a little further ahead, Cecilia ended up spinning and going off track, with Nicholas needing to leave the track to avoid a crash. As a result, the driver fell to tenth position.
Approaching the end of the race, without safety car interventions, Gerson Campos was first with a 4.2s advantage over Pedrosa, second. Caio Castro, Neumann, and Sadak Leite close the top 5.
In Challenge Sport, Garfinkel leads, while Claudio Simão is first in Rookie.
