Sergio Pérez is satisfied to have returned to the 2026 Formula 1 grid, saying he feels he is “one of the best” drivers in the field with his performance with Cadillac so far.

In the last championship, the Mexican was ‘on the sidelines’ after being fired by Red Bull at the end of 2024. However, he found a way back, along with Valtteri Bottas, with the rookie Cadillac team.
With performance still at the back of the pack, as expected, the American team has been bringing updates to the races. And when evaluating his return to F1, Checo couldn’t be more satisfied. “I am very happy with my performance,” he said when asked how he readapted to the category.

“I’m happy to have returned and proven to myself that I am one of the best. That’s really great, and I’m very satisfied with the level of driving I’m showing,” he continued.
Speaking about Cadillac’s recent updates, he said, “I think we took a big step. This was our most competitive weekend ever, so there are many positives to consider.”
