Mick Schumacher has not given up on the dream of Formula 1 yet. Currently competing in the 2026 Indy season in the United States, he acknowledged that he would not refuse an opportunity to return to the grid.

The German spent two years in F1 racing for Haas, but during a less competitive period for the team. His farewell came at the final stage in Abu Dhabi, undermining chances of seeking a spot before joining Mercedes as a reserve driver in 2025.
So, despite finding space in Indy, Mick still keeps the dream of returning to Formula 1 alive. “It would be a lie if I said I don’t sometimes go back to the times of Formula 1 and think about what it was like to drive there,” he told ntv.
“It’s a different era, of course. If a new opportunity arose, I definitely wouldn’t say no. Definitely, that’s the case,” he added.

But Schumacher acknowledged that he has also been enjoying his time in Indy in the USA. “IndyCar is, without a doubt, a big change compared to everything I have experienced in motorsport so far,” Schumacher said.
“People work very differently here. It’s a new environment you need to get used to. It’s definitely fun. The most fun is racing again in my own car. Of course, everything is very new to me. I’m still adapting,” he concluded.
