Lewis Hamilton was one of the names on the grid who commented on Max Verstappen’s renewal with Red Bull until the 2030 Formula 1 season, saying it is beneficial for the category.

After rumors of a departure from the Austrian team and even retirement, the team announced the renewal of the Dutchman’s contract, extending the current one from 2028 by two more years.
So, when the seven-time Ferrari champion was asked about the rival’s stay in Formula 1, he directly replied that “definitely [it is good]. Why wouldn’t it be?”.

Speaking about a driver going through different teams and winning titles in different environments, Hamilton admitted that he does not know if it makes much difference in a career. “I think he is in a great team. He has been with them for a very, very long time. They keep growing and getting stronger and stronger. It’s an amazing place to be and work, truly.”
“When you look at the history of drivers who change teams, there are some who have changed an absurd number of times. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad. Staying where you feel comfortable is definitely the easiest path. That is his choice and it is not a bad choice,” he concluded.
