Driver defending the AMattheis Vogel team in the 2026 NASCAR Brazil season, Gabriel Casagrande secured third place in the Sprint Race held on the night of this Friday (31) at the Autódromo Internacional de Mato Grosso, in Cuiabá, which hosts the fifth stage of the championship. After being among the fastest in the first qualifying round, the Paraná native was among the leaders in the race that defined the pole position, and will start in the second row.

After making adjustments between free practice sessions, the owner of car number 83 went on to qualifying, where he made two flying laps to secure, on his second lap, the third best time, guaranteeing himself a spot for the shorter race of the weekend. Shortly after, Casagrande completed the five-lap race in third place, the position from which he will start in Saturday’s race in the Mato Grosso capital.
“We will start from third position this Saturday. We changed the car a little between the practice sessions. In qualifying, I got the third best time and we maintained this position in the Sprint Race. In the race, the trend is that no one will be able to break away, and we will have to keep our heads to face a race on the outer ring that has battles all the time,” said Gabriel Casagrande, who is sponsored by Baterias Júpiter, Axalta, OnPetro, STP, Cresol, RP Info, UFI Filters, Chevrolet, and OMP.
