Norwegian Noah Stromsted will lose three positions on the grid for the two races of the second round of the 2026 Formula 3 season, scheduled for the Monte Carlo circuit in Monaco. According to the FIA stewards, the Trident driver hindered one of his opponents this Friday (5), during the qualifying session that defined the starting positions for the two races.

In an activity carried out in groups, Stromsted was in the first batch of drivers to go out on track and, according to the stewards, blocked Tuukka Taponen at turns 3 and 4, hindering the MP Motorsport rival who was on a fast lap at that moment. The Norwegian was penalized due to article 31.6 of the F3 regulations.
Thus, Stromsted loses three positions on the grid for his weekend races. The driver therefore drops from third to sixth position on the Sprint grid, which takes into account the inversion of the top 12 qualifiers, and drops from tenth to 13th place in the main race, scheduled for early Sunday morning.

The penalty in the Sprint benefits Brazilian Pedro Clerot, who would originally start from fourth position, and now starts in third. The Rodin Motorsport driver remains in ninth place on the grid for the main race.
Formula 3 returns to the track this Saturday, from 5:45 AM, for the Sprint race. The main race takes place on Sunday, from 2:55 AM.
