Freddie Slater won the main race of the seventh round of Formula 3 this Sunday, held at the Hungaroring circuit in Hungary. The Trident driver overtook pole position Tuukka Taponen early in Sunday’s (26) race and withstood attacks from Ugo Ugochukwu in the final part of the race, securing the victory.

Second position went to Ugochukwu, the Campos Racing driver who pushed but could not overcome Slater. Brando Badoer, with a Rodin Motorsport car, crossed the finish line in third position, completing the podium. Mattia Colnaghi, from MP Motorsport, was fourth, while Theóphile Nael, from Campos Racing, completed the top-5.
Tuukka Taponen finished the race in sixth with MP Motorsport, ending just ahead of Ernesto Rivera, seventh with another Campos Racing car. James Wharton, from Prema, crossed the finish line in eighth position, followed by his teammate, Louis Sharp. Christian Ho, from Rodin Motorsport, was tenth.

Pedro Clerot climbed 11 positions and finished the race in 16th place with a Rodin Motorsport car. Fernando Barrichello, who scored his first championship points in the Sprint race in Hungary, abandoned this morning’s race. The Brazilian from AIX Racing was in 12th position when he unsuccessfully attempted a double overtake, crashing and damaging his suspension.
Formula 3 has a long break for holidays and returns on September 4, 5, and 6 for the penultimate round, scheduled for the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, in Italy.
