The opening round of Formula 3, held this Saturday (7) at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, ended on a positive note for Pedro Clerot. The Brazilian, who is debuting in the category this year, completed the weekend’s feature race in eighth place with a Rodin Motorsport car. The result also earned the driver’s first four points in the category.

To secure a top-10 finish, Clerot had to drive a combative race. The first champion in the history of F4 Brazil started from 17th position and had to make overtakes throughout the 23 laps on the Australian street circuit, securing eighth position at the end of the race.
“It was a good race. I knew I had more pace than the cars in front. Unfortunately, we had a problem in qualifying, but we separate things, we do our job. I knew I had pace and that if I did a good job we had a chance to score points. Of course, I have a little bit of luck here and there, but I joke that we create our own luck,” said Clerot.
“We did a good job, I managed to start well, I managed to take good care of the tires at the start of the race. That made a big difference at the end. It was my first feature race. Honestly, I think it was a good job. We managed to gain ten positions. So, I’m very happy,” continues the Rodin Motorsport driver.

“Happy to score points in our first feature, happy to be with the team. We did a good job yesterday, we already knew we had pace. I had the whole race yesterday, so it was good for us to understand a little bit, but I’m very happy, it’s just the beginning, it shows that if everything goes well in qualifying, we can fight for good positions, but that’s it, I’m just happy,” added Clerot, who is sponsored by Banco BRB.
F3 has its second round scheduled for April 10, 11, and 12, in Bahrain.
