Toto Wolff and Lewis Hamilton exchanged some messages at the start of this 2026 Formula 1 season. The Mercedes boss spoke with the seven-time champion due to the positive start to the championship.

In 2025, the Briton left Mercedes to race for Ferrari. But a partnership that seemed quite promising ended up disappointing, with Lewis ending the year without achieving a podium.
However, with the arrival of the new regulations and new engines, the Maranello team seems to be on a recovery path. In the Australian GP, he finished fourth, while in the Shanghai Sprint he crossed the finish line in third place.

Asked, then, by Sky Sports if Hamilton’s talent seems to have returned at the start of 2026, Wolff revealed the exchange of messages with the former Mercedes driver.
“Last night, I was exchanging messages with him and said: ‘I’m happy to see that you enjoy racing these cars,’ and he replied: ‘Yes, I’m good now,’” he said
