Max Verstappen got tired of Juan Pablo Montoya’s comments and decided to respond to the former Formula 1 driver, firing harsh words against the Colombian and even saying that “I don’t know what his problem is.”

After the Miami GP, Montoya said that F1 should ‘stop’ the four-time world champion, maybe add ‘seven or eight points to his license.’ This was due to the constant criticism from the Red Bull driver about the new technical regulations for the 2026 season.
Reacting to the Colombian’s speech, Verstappen did not hold back words against the Indy 500 winner either. “I don’t know what his problem is. I also can’t deal with someone who talks so much nonsense,” he told the newspaper De Telegraaf.

“I simply don’t understand why people like that are paid by the Formula 1 management, since he sometimes works for them. You wouldn’t want someone like that in the paddock, talking so much nonsense, would you? I think it’s a case of: ‘If I say something different from everyone else, then I will be relevant,’” he continued.
“It doesn’t bother me much; it’s his problem. I live my life and don’t let it affect me,” he concluded.
