Max Verstappen has once again raised doubts about his future in Formula 1, following the qualifying session for the Japanese GP. Eliminated in Q2 and only 11th on the starting grid, the Red Bull Racing driver indicated that the current rules of the category make him reflect even on his continuity in the sport.

The four-time champion showed little emotion after the result in Suzuka and stated that he no longer feels frustration with the current scenario. The statements reinforce the Dutchman’s recent criticisms of the current Formula 1 regulations and the behavior of the current generation of cars.
“I’m not even frustrated anymore. I’m past that. I don’t know what to think,” said Verstappen after the session. The Dutch driver also admitted difficulty even expressing himself in his native language, highlighting the moment of discouragement: “I don’t get upset, disappointed or frustrated with what is happening,” he said.
Questioned about what he was evaluating at this moment, Verstappen responded enigmatically: “You know how I think about many things. I don’t need to mention it again. There is a lot for me to resolve personally,” he stated.

When pressed on the meaning of this reflection, he responded even more directly and briefly: “Life. Life here,” he said, indicating that his doubts go beyond a simple negative result in a race weekend.
Recently, Verstappen has openly criticized the current generation of Formula 1 cars. He has already stated that what happens on the track currently, ‘is not racing’, demonstrating dissatisfaction with the format and behavior of the cars under the current rules.
