Yuki Tsunoda will return to the Formula 1 grid at the Dutch GP this coming weekend, following an injury to Isack Hadjar’s wrist. The Japanese driver took the opportunity to wish a speedy recovery to the Red Bull Racing driver.

Hadjar was ruled out of the Zandvoort round after Red Bull confirmed he would not be able to participate in track activities over the weekend. With the Frenchman absent, Liam Lawson will be promoted to the main team, while Tsunoda will take his former position at Racing Bulls alongside Arvid Lindblad.
After the confirmation of these changes, Tsunoda posted a message on social media celebrating his return to the track: “Happy to be back behind the wheel this weekend and to replace a driver in the team. I wish Isack Hadjar a speedy recovery!” wrote the Japanese driver.
Racing Bulls highlighted the adaptability of both drivers in the face of the last-minute change. In a statement, the team confirmed that Lawson will race for Red Bull Racing at the Dutch GP due to Hadjar’s injury, while Tsunoda will take the spot left by the New Zealander.

“We are grateful to Liam and Yuki for their adaptability as the teams prepare for the weekend and we wish Isack a speedy recovery,” Racing Bulls said in a statement.
Tsunoda has already competed in 92 races for the team, then called AlphaTauri, since his debut in 2021. The Japanese driver was promoted to Red Bull Racing after the first two rounds of 2025, swapping places precisely with Lawson, but ended up returning to the role of reserve driver in 2026, after many difficulties keeping up with Max Verstappen last year.
