F1 today? Find out if there is a race this Sunday, day 12

Formula 1 will not have a race this Sunday, April 12. After the first three stages of the 2026 season, the world’s premier category enters a break in the calendar before arriving in Miami for the next stop of the championship.

The break lasts more than 30 days and occurs due to an atypical reason. The reason is the cancellation of the Bahrain GP, which was to be held on the 12th, and the Saudi Arabian GP, scheduled for the 19th, all due to the war in the Middle East, which forced the Formula 1 organization to restructure the calendar, which went from 24 to 22 stages.

As a result, the 2026 season is temporarily suspended after the races in Australia, China, and Japan, all won by Mercedes – one with George Russell and two with Kimi Antonelli. During this period, the FIA will also hold a series of meetings to adjust this year’s regulations.

The next Formula 1 race will be the Miami GP, which takes place between May 1st and 3rd, in the United States, in the Hard Rock Stadium area. The stage marks the resumption of the championship after this break and should continue the battle that is beginning to take shape between the main teams on the grid.
