The film F1 – The Movie ended the awards season with an Oscar to its name. Last Sunday (15), the blockbuster featuring Brad Pitt in the cast won a statuette in the Best Sound category.

The film, directed by Joseph Kosinski and with executive production by Lewis Hamilton, secured a victory among four nominations at the 98ª edition of the Oscars, Hollywood’s biggest night.
The award was presented to the film’s sound team: Gareth John, Al Nelson, Gwendolyn Yates Whittle, Gary A. Rizzo and Juan Peralta, in recognition of their work in capturing the entire atmosphere of Formula 1.
During the speech, in addition to thanking director Kosinski, seven-time British champion Hamilton, who also achieved his first podium with Ferrari on Sunday, 15, in China, was also mentioned.

Released in 2025, F1 – The Movie quickly established itself as one of the most successful motorsport and sports productions in history. Filming took place during F1 weekends, and the seven-time champion driver helped bring more realism and authenticity.
With names like Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, now an F1 ambassador, Javier Bardem and Kerry Condom, it also features appearances by drivers from the 2023 grid.
At the Oscar ceremony in Los Angeles, the production arrived with four total nominations. In addition to Best Sound, it also competed for Best Picture, Best Visual Effects and Best Original Song for Drive, by Ed Sheeran.
