Lance Stroll will be investigated by the commissioners of the Italian GP of Formula 1, after an incident with Lando Norris during TL2 in Monza. The Aston Martin driver was accused of blocking the opponent at a delicate moment of the session.

About twenty minutes after the start of the second free practice, Stroll ended up crossing Norris’s path, who was starting a fast lap, right in the braking zone of the first corner. The McLaren driver had to take evasive action to avoid contact.
This situation caused an immediate reaction from Norris over the team radio. The Brit questioned Stroll’s attitude and described the episode as ‘dangerous’, making clear his dissatisfaction with the proximity between the two cars.

Even with Norris’s complaint, the FIA commissioners’ investigation will focus on the possibility that Stroll blocked the McLaren driver, and not on erratic driving.
The trend is that the case will result in a warning or at most a fine for Stroll. The fact that the incident occurred during a free practice session, and not in a competitive activity, should weigh in the definition of any penalty.
