Toni Cuquerella, Spanish engineer and commentator, proposed a simulation with the aim of totally eliminating the issue of superclipping for the Formula 1 Miami GP in May.

The engineer worked in the category between 2006 and 2012 with HRT, Super Aguri and Sauber, before a brief stint at Ferrari in 2015 and 2016. Then, on his profile on X [formerly Twitter], he gave suggestions on how F1 can solve one of the main problems seen in the first three races of the year.
In his proposal, he suggests a series of adjustments designed for the power unit parameters: reducing the maximum positive power from 350 kW to 200 kW, maintaining the maximum capture at 350 kW, decreasing the maximum energy recharge from 9 MJ to 6 MJ and halving the rate of change from 100 kW/s to 50 kW/s, in addition to changing the MGU-K/ICE balance from 50/50 to 36/64.
According to his simulations, these changes would provide a top speed in the region of 328 km/h just before the braking point, compared to the current 338 km/h under existing rules. With a difference of only 10 km/h, it would eliminate superclipping.
And despite the adjustments, the performance loss would be limited to about 1s4 per lap, with the cars still being 8s faster compared to those of Formula 1.

Obviously, the changes are almost impossible to implement in the short term, as changing the balance between internal combustion and electric power would require a complete redesign of the engine architecture.
