The team faced a very difficult start to the 2026 championship – first, they lost the shakedown in Barcelona due to excess weight, and development was delayed so much that the first three races took place without the planned package for Australia.
Therefore, after the ‘ordeal’ of the first stops on the calendar, Sainz and Alexander Albon finished in the top 10 in Miami, something that brought relief to the Spaniard. “We finally installed the upgrade on the car that should have come for race one,” he said.

“Due to all the delays we had at the start of the season, we finally managed to get on track the car that should be the package for the first race,” he continued.
