George Russell announced an important update in his personal life during the current Formula 1 break. The Mercedes driver confirmed his engagement to Carmen Mundt via social media.

The confirmation came during the holidays, after Russell proposed to his partner. The two have been together for several years, and Mundt usually accompanies the driver during GP weekends.
Russell posted four photos on Instagram to reveal the news. The message was accompanied by a ring emoji, and the post quickly received a large number of likes and congratulatory messages.

Among the reactions was that of Kimi Antonelli, Russell’s teammate at Mercedes, who left a message congratulating the Briton on this new stage of his life. Russell thus became the most recent F1 driver to announce wedding plans.
The move also comes after Charles Leclerc got married earlier this year, after having announced his own engagement in 2025. On the track, Russell will return to Formula 1 activities later this month at the Dutch GP, aiming to resume his title ambitions.
