The season has marked the German manufacturer’s debut in the main motorsport category. After 11 rounds, it is in eighth place with 12 points scored, ten coming from Gabriel Bortoleto and two from Nico Hülkenberg.
Speaking about the start of the F1 championship, McNish told Sky Sports F1 that “I think, overall, the scenario is as expected, with some difficult races, those where we didn’t get it right and others where we faced reliability issues.”

“I believe that, in terms of pure performance, we are probably a little better than expected. But, in the end, that also depends on the competition and how they are doing. At this moment, our focus is to put the house in order and ensure we get the most out of everything. But, so far, I would say things are going very well,” he continued.
Asked what the main factor to improve for the second half of the year is, the director replied that “obviously, we need to solve some of the reliability problems that affected us in the last two races. If I think about Nico’s case in Silverstone and also the problem we had in qualifying in Spa, I believe this is fundamentally the aspect we need to try to fix.”
