Nico Rosberg does not believe that Formula 1’s 2026 regulations are a real problem for the category. In the eyes of the 2016 champion, as long as the races have good battles between the drivers, fans will be entertained and satisfied.

The new set of rules has raised a series of debates in the championship. Drivers, and especially Max Verstappen, have shown themselves to be against what has been implemented and the artifices during the stages, saying that races and overtakes are too artificial.
But for the German, if rival teams manage to fight with Mercedes and the races deliver a good amount of action, viewers will end up accepting the new regulations.

“From a spectator’s point of view, it’s a bit strange when you should be driving flat out, with the highest-performing Formula 1 car. Even so, I’m a bit more relaxed about it, because, from my point of view, as long as there are great battles, within the team itself and also between different teams,” he said.
“Hopefully Ferrari can use that difference now to get closer to Mercedes. McLaren was already there in the last race. So, if we have a really cool fight there, I think fans won’t care much about what the technology is, they’ll simply love and appreciate the races and the battles,” he added.
