Jenson Button assessed Max Verstappen’s future in Formula 1. The 2009 champion ruled out the possibility of the Dutchman taking a sabbatical year due to his dissatisfaction with the 2026 rules.

The Red Bull four-time champion has been quite vocal about his unhappiness with the new regulations. He has even threatened to leave the grid at the end of his season due to the situation.
But evaluating the competitor’s current situation, Button does not believe Verstappen has the personality to take a sabbatical year. He either stays in Formula 1, or he leaves for good.

“Personally, it doesn’t seem to me that he’s the type of guy who wants to take a sabbatical year. Either he’s racing or he’s not. If he wants to stop and do something else, that’s great too,” he told Sky Sports.
“I think this will be his last ‘career’ in F1. I don’t think he’s going to take a year off and come back. I don’t think that’s the Max I know,” he added.
