Ralf Schumacher gave a brief analysis of Red Bull’s complicated start to the Formula 1 championship. The Sky Sports Germany commentator pointed out that the Austrian team is paying the price for losing numerous key figures in recent years.

The Milton Keynes team has undergone an internal overhaul, with important people saying goodbye to the team. Some names who left, or were let go, are Adrian Newey, designer, Christian Horner, former team principal, Jonathan Wheatley, sporting director, Helmut Marko, advisor, Craig Skinner, chief designer, and Rob Marshall, chief engineer.
“Now you are paying the price for having lost several people in the team. And the new concept, the new regulations, were not implemented as well as expected or planned. The engine is good,” he told Sky Sports Germany.
“But, to be completely honest, we haven’t seen that with Lindblad yet. Racing Bull seems to have done an even better job over the winter. And that is something Red Bull really needs to question internally. The car is heavy and simply not good enough. Not even Max [Verstappen] can change that. So, there is a lot of work to be done, a long list,” he added.

Furthermore, when asked about Verstappen’s situation within the team, he pointed out that “well, life isn’t always easy. It’s just how it is sometimes, and he will have to overcome it. The potential is there, and he has a team supporting him. We saw that last year too, there was a phase where things didn’t go well. And in the end, they almost fought for the championship again.”
“So, the potential definitely exists. There’s no reason to throw in the towel yet. That’s also part of being a world champion, you have to persevere in moments like this,” he concluded.
