Racing Bulls evaluated the Sprint race of the Formula 1 Chinese GP as positive, despite some difficulties in the qualifying session for Sunday’s GP, and is now focusing on the main race.

Liam Lawson finished the Sprint race in 7th position, earning important points for the team. He commented on the strategy adopted and the performance: “This morning’s Sprint was very good. We had a good track position at the end, so when the Safety Car came out, we didn’t want to give that up. It was a bold strategy, but it worked well and we managed to take some points home. The qualifying session was a bit messy and we struggled to put the session together. However, we were on a very good lap at the end and everything was coming together before the double yellow flags forced us to abort at the last corner, which was a shame. Tire and energy management will be very important tomorrow. It’s going to be tough, so we’ll need a solid race strategy, which we’ll be working on tonight,” he said.
Arvid Lindblad, who did not complete the Sprint and will start in 15th, highlighted his progress during the qualifying session and the importance of strategy for the race: “I felt very good in the car during the qualifying session. I made some mistakes on a few laps, but on my last lap I was three tenths ahead. I don’t know if I would have made it to Q3, but I was improving, so it was a shame to have the yellow flags at the last corner. Overall, we lost some laps between yesterday’s FP1 and this morning’s Sprint, but that’s the situation we’re in and there’s no way to recover, so we need to make the most of it. I think it will be an interesting race tomorrow and it will be important to get the tire management and strategy right. We’ll do our best and see if we can get some points,” he added.

The team now concentrates its efforts on adjusting tires and strategy, seeking to overcome setbacks and take advantage of all opportunities in the main race.
