Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad was involved in an incident this Wednesday (1st) at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan. The driver aquaplaned during Pirelli’s wet track testing. He ended up hitting the safety barriers. Despite the impact, the collision was not considered serious. Images show damage to the front of the car, with the front wing already detached.

The Briton replaced Liam Lawson during the two days of activities following the Japanese GP and, despite the damage to his VCARB 03, returned to the track to continue the program in the final part of the test. The activities are part of a joint effort by the teams to assist Pirelli during Formula 1’s five-week break, especially after the cancellation of tests in Bahrain due to the war in the Middle East.

On the first day, Lawson and Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar tested extreme wet tires in the morning and, as track conditions improved, switched to intermediate compounds. According to Pirelli, “The Red Bull driver completed 69 laps, totaling 401 kilometers, while the Racing Bulls driver did 65 laps, covering 377 kilometers.

Hadjar was the only Red Bull driver in the RB22. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen tested a Mercedes GT3 at Nürburgring earlier this week.
