“We managed to improve it a bit throughout the three parts of qualifying, but it lacked that little extra in the last attempt. The first lap of Q3 with used tires was reasonable, but my final attempt with new tires was not good enough. On this track, when you lose rhythm, it is very difficult to recover it, and having to use two sets of tires in Q1 ended up putting us at a bit of a disadvantage,” he continued.
“The positive side is that the car is fast, and Lando’s pole position shows what is possible to achieve when everything comes together. For tomorrow, tire degradation is an unknown, given the wear we observed in practice, and overtaking will not be simple; therefore, everything will depend on strategy and avoiding confusion. We will analyze everything as a team tonight, run a clean race, and try to make the most of our pace in the race,” he concluded.
