Cadillac debuted in the category this season as the 11th team on the grid, but is still seeking to adapt to the demands of the premier motorsport category. After the first stages of 2026, the team occupies the last position in the constructors’ championship, without having scored points.

Valtteri Bottas and Perez lead the team’s development work. The duo brings extensive experience in Formula 1 and has been fundamental in the process of building a structure capable of evolving in the coming years.
The Mexican acknowledged that the challenges faced by a rookie team are numerous, but believes they also bring opportunities: “Being a new team brings huge challenges, but also great opportunities. We have very experienced people who have done this before,” he said.
According to Perez, Cadillac is still working to improve its internal organization: “Obviously, the whole team wants to see more progress in all areas and more structure, so we are in the process of organizing everything. As a new team, there are many challenges,” he said.

The driver also emphasized that the team faces difficulties similar to those experienced by more established competitors: “It seems we are dealing with the same problems other teams face. We are in a real fight and trying to structure our team in the best possible way,” he added.
Despite the difficult start, Cadillac’s focus is already beginning to turn to the future. The design work for the 2027 car will begin soon, making the coming months especially important to define the project’s direction.
“We are at a critical stage. I think the next two or three months will be crucial for our future, in terms of developing ideas for next year and the decisions the team needs to make. This is a very important period for us,” concluded the Mexican driver.
