Lando Norris finished the Italian Grand Prix in fourth place and considered the result positive given the difficulties faced by McLaren. The Brit, however, admitted that the performance shown in Monza highlighted some weaknesses of the team.

Norris assessed that he had to extract the maximum from the car during a difficult race, especially highlighting his recovery in the second half of the race. The driver also described the duels with Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri on the last lap as satisfactory.
“I’m happy with the race, finishing fourth was a good result for us today. The race was tough, the car was tricky, and I felt I drove well to maximize what we had,” said Norris. According to him, using the slipstream allowed him to get back into the fight, while the battles at the end provided ‘a good and tough fight’.

Despite the fourth place, Norris emphasized that the result does not hide the points that still need to be corrected by McLaren: “It’s clear that we are not where we need to be. This weekend highlighted our weaknesses, we lack overall performance, especially in qualifying, and our speed on the straights is a disadvantage,” he added.
The Brit also highlighted that recent wins do not eliminate the need for improvement: “Even with the two recent wins, we still have a lot of work to do as a team. We know what our strengths and weaknesses are, and the challenge now is to improve for the rest of the year,” he concluded.
