Lando Norris admitted that it is painful to say that he is driving better in 2026 than in Formula 1 in 2025, when he won the title, as the results have not reflected the fact.

The current grid champion secured his first win of the championship at the Hungarian GP, only the 11th round of the championship. The victory came after starting from pole position and he crossed the finish line with a 15-second lead over Max Verstappen, who finished second.
Even so, the McLaren driver is fifth in the Drivers’ World Championship with 128 points and when evaluating his campaign, he feels that his level has improved, but without a consistent car, he has not translated the improvement into results. “Honestly, although it hurts a bit to say this, because it doesn’t mean you will simply win, I feel that I am doing a better job this year than last year, and it has been like this for some time,” he said.

“I have been saying this for some time. It’s just that it doesn’t mean you win races. “At this moment, today, I would probably say it was one of my best performances, in terms of extracting the maximum from the car and being so close to the limit on every lap.
