Mercedes has announced the deployment of the 100% electric Mercedes-Benz Trucks eActros 600 truck for all nine European races of the 2026 Formula 1 season. The operation is expected to cover about 15,000 km throughout the calendar, starting at the Monaco GP.

The eActros 600 will be used to transport one of the race trailers and will be part of the team’s truck fleet during the European leg, with the final destination in Madrid, in mid-September. The team highlights that the initiative continues tests carried out in 2025, including a pilot at the British GP and the electric transport of the W16 cars from Brackley to Zandvoort at the Dutch GP. The truck had already completed an initial trip of more than 1,600 km between Brackley and Monaco.
The Mercedes-Benz Trucks eActros 600 has a 600 kWh (LFP) battery and a minimum range of 500 km per charge. Under ideal conditions, it can charge from 20% to 80% in about 25 minutes with a megawatt charging system (MCS). In addition to transporting the race trailer, the vehicle carries essential operational infrastructure for the team, such as communications office, medical area, and physiotherapy.
The expansion of the use of the electric truck is part of the team’s strategy to reduce Scope 3 emissions and advance towards Net Zero by 2030. The initiative also integrates the sustainable logistics program using HVO100 in partnership with PETRONAS. In 2025, the team achieved 99% coverage with this biofuel in the European season, avoiding more than 410 tCO2e.

Alice Ashpitel, the team’s sustainability head, stated: “We are fulfilling our ambition to deploy the Mercedes-Benz Trucks eActros 600 in all nine European races, demonstrating our commitment to accelerating decarbonization in hard-to-reduce areas.”
Ash Armstrong, from Daimler Truck UK, said: “The project shows that long-distance electric transport is not the future, it is reality today. It demonstrates the capabilities of the eActros 600 and the evolution of charging infrastructure in Europe.”
