The trip to Montreal was very positive for the Austrian team. Not only did the four-time world champion finish in third place after an exciting battle with Lewis Hamilton, but Isack Hadjar also achieved his best result since debuting with the team at the start of 2026.
However, the executive preferred to remain cautious, emphasizing that the characteristics of the circuit could be the factor behind the good performance over the weekend. “I think, overall, at least we confirmed the steps taken in Miami. I think we went a bit beyond what we showed in Miami, in the sense that we managed to take a bit of performance from the best,” he said.

“Looking at the lap time now, in qualifying it was 0.3 seconds. But I think today we got a bit closer than the half-second gap we had in Miami. In Miami, we finished 40 seconds from the win. So I think here the gap was a bit smaller,” he said.
“There is probably no reason to get too excited, since the track layout can also influence. It is a track that can be more forgiving with certain aspects of the car. But I think, at the very least, we confirmed what we did in Miami. I think the team managed something extra. And if we consider that the competition had another batch of updates this weekend, I think that only confirms that we are heading in the right direction,” he added.
