British driver Arvid Lindblad has been impressing in Formula 1 with Racing Bulls. After just one year in F2, where he achieved three victories, Lindblad rose quickly through the junior categories until debuting in F1, scoring points as early as Australia and repeating good performances in China and Japan.

Dino Chiesa, Kart Republic coach, who also worked with Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Kimi Antonelli, commented on Lindblad’s style: “He is a very smooth and intelligent driver. This was very positive because he can change his driving style if needed. He learns fast and is a technical driver, adapting his braking or style to different tires or chassis. He is also very fast in the rain.”
Chiesa highlighted the Briton’s aggressiveness: “Arvid is really aggressive in races; he doesn’t wait or calculate everything. When he catches another driver, he overtakes immediately. However, because he is intelligent, he doesn’t get involved in many incidents or big accidents. I would say he is more like Lewis. Nico was very polite and more willing to accept a second place than Lewis or Arvid.”

Regarding the driver’s personality, Chiesa recalled: “He spent three very good years with me, but when he finished P2 behind a teammate, he immediately told me: ‘f*** off, you gave him the best engine’.”
Chiesa also commented on Lindblad’s adaptation to F1 politics: “He will be good for Red Bull, but sometimes he needs to learn to count to ten before saying something, because he can be very passionate and perhaps say what he shouldn’t. You have to be polite when you arrive in F1. When you become a Verstappen or Hamilton, you can say whatever you want, but until then, you need to be more political, and Arvid is not political at all.”
