Charles Leclerc spoke about his incident with Oscar Piastri at the Formula 1 Belgian GP, admitted that the battle was ‘very tight’ and expressed relief that the contact did not bring major consequences to the drivers.

On the eighth lap of the race in Spa, the McLaren driver tried to pass the Ferrari rival on the outside at Les Combes, using the slipstream and power boost. The pair ended up colliding from the move, with debris flying from one of the cars. It turns out that after analysis, the stewards did not punish the Monegasque.
“To be honest, I would prefer to talk about the first lap, but the eighth lap was very tight. Fortunately, this had no consequences for either my race or his, so that’s good,” Leclerc commented.

Throughout the race, Charles showed good pace and even took the lead, but finished the Belgian GP in second place. Meanwhile, Piastri was fifth.
