Charles Leclerc hopes that Ferrari will be able to save his updated engine involved in the Formula 1 Italian GP crash just over two weeks ago.

On the second lap in Monza, the Monegasque crashed hard at the Parabolica corner, destroying his Ferrari and causing a red flag. It happens the driver was using the new updated engine with ADUO, but it was not fitted in Spain a week later as engineers are still assessing whether the power unit can be used again.
But Leclerc hopes it can be fitted again in the SF-26. “For now, as far as I know, they are still checking; we’ll see. I mean, I don’t know yet. If we can save it, great. Otherwise, there will probably be a penalty at some point,” he said.

<p“Certainly, I think our car is strong in race pace, but we need to try to understand how to extract more performance in qualifying. We know that power delivery is an even bigger challenge, in my opinion, on Saturdays than on Sundays, and we don’t have quick solutions for that.”“But anything we can do to try to gain a bit of performance on Saturday would be very helpful for our race result,” he concluded.
