Racing Bulls arrives at the Monaco Formula 1 GP determined to turn potential into results, and Liam Lawson made clear what the team’s priority should be. After a weekend of mixed feelings in Canada, the New Zealander stated that it will be crucial to make the most of every session to quickly build confidence on the streets of Monte Carlo.

This statement gains importance because the team left points behind in the previous round. Although Lawson secured a good seventh place after starting from twelfth position, the collective performance was hampered by problems faced by teammate Arvid Lindblad.
The eighteen-year-old had shown speed during the weekend in Montreal, securing ninth place on the grid and scoring a point by finishing eighth in the Sprint race. However, a gearbox failure prevented him from even starting the main GP, ending his participation before the start.
As a result, Racing Bulls left Canada with seven points, but the feeling within the team was that the result could have been even better. For this reason, Lawson believes the focus needs to be on perfect execution of activities in Monaco.

“We are arriving in Monaco after a mixed weekend for the team in Canada, where there were positive aspects to take with us, but also things we know we can improve,” he said.

The New Zealander highlighted that the challenge in Monte Carlo will be completely different from that found at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. According to him, quick adaptation will be essential to extract maximum performance from the first moments on the track.
“Monaco presents a completely different challenge, so it’s important that we maximize every session and build confidence quickly,” he added.
He also emphasized that precision is usually the deciding factor on the traditional street circuit: “It’s a track where precision is everything, so we hope to put together a strong weekend for the team,” Lawson concluded, making clear Racing Bulls’ goal for one of the most demanding rounds on the Formula 1 calendar.
