Lewis Hamilton believes that the changes he requested from Ferrari have finally started to produce results in the 2026 Formula 1 season. After achieving his best result for the Italian team at the Canadian GP with P2, the Briton highlighted the impact of the internal changes and especially praised his new working structure.

The seven-time world champion had one of the most competitive weekends since his arrival at Ferrari. In Montreal, Hamilton outperformed Charles Leclerc both in qualifying for the Sprint and the GP and finished the main race in second place, his best result with the Italian team so far.
Part of this evolution, according to the British driver, is related to the changes made behind the scenes. During the off-season, Ferrari replaced Riccardo Adami, his first race engineer at the team, after the pair failed to develop the desired rapport. Carlo Santi, former engineer of Kimi Raikkonen, was chosen to take his place.
Additionally, the Maranello team also hired Cedric-Michel Grosjean, coming from McLaren, to work directly on Hamilton’s car. The Briton believes that the new technical setup is working better and helping him extract more performance from the SF-26.
Commenting on the Canadian round, Hamilton highlighted the joint work with his new engineer: “I chose a different setup in Montreal after analyzing the data and working very well with my engineer. He is absolutely fantastic, and I am loving working with him,” he said.

The seven-time world champion also praised the rest of his engineering team: “My number two engineer did a fantastic job and helped me extract more performance from the car, finding a much better window. I finally managed to attack all the corners.”
Hamilton also revealed that he had been requesting several changes since his arrival at Ferrari and thanked the support received from the team leadership: “As I have said before, there were many changes I asked for. Fred has been extremely supportive and is doing everything to make me comfortable,” he said, referring to the team principal, Frédéric Vasseur.
For the Briton, the results obtained in Canada are a sign that the process is starting to bear fruit: “This is finally starting to show in my performance. So, my thanks to the team,” Hamilton concluded, showing confidence that the recent evolution could represent a turning point in his journey with Ferrari in Formula 1.
