Lewis Hamilton arrives at the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix, which takes place between July 24 and 26, with the aim of fighting for victory again after a difficult weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium. The seven-time champion stated that he hopes to be competitive in Budapest and fight for first place with Ferrari.

“I hope we can be competitive,” Hamilton told the press. “Well, first, I need to arrive well next week and make sure I deliver what I know I can deliver in Budapest. We have to come and fight for that victory.”
Despite the disappointing result in Belgium, the Briton highlighted the team’s evolution throughout the season and praised the decisions made during race weekends: “It’s definitely very encouraging,” he said. “The team has made great decisions on strategy. We have improved a lot in all aspects of how we operate during the weekend. And then [in Spa] we had the pace to win. All things considered, to leave there with the points, I am very grateful.”

Hamilton also evaluates the 2026 season positively, as he achieved his first victory with the Italian team this year in Barcelona. At the Hungaroring, he will try to extend his record of eight victories in the Hungarian GP. The driver’s last triumph at the Budapest circuit was in 2020, the season in which he won his seventh title.
