Last month, in April, the 2025 F1 Academy champion had the chance to make a debut with a car from the category. At the stage of the British GP, she drove the W12, Mercedes’ 2021 season car – the competitor drove the car that belonged to the Briton.

When asked how he felt about Doriane driving his car, Hamilton praised the opportunity for the driver and complimented the Frenchwoman. “I remember driving a Formula 1 car for the first time and it’s the most incredible feeling,” he said.

“Fulfilling your dream from a very young age. So, I followed closely and I think it’s amazing that Mercedes put her on the track and it’s amazing to see my old car on the circuit as well. I have been following her for the last two years in the F1 Academy, so it’s amazing to see her growth. And, you know, she is a real force. I’m excited to see what progress comes next,” he added.
