Lewis Hamilton blamed the tire game in qualifying for the Spanish GP this Saturday (12) which resulted in fourth position on the starting grid in Madring.

The Ferrari driver was in the top positions throughout the weekend in the Spanish capital and even appeared in front in the first laps of Q3, being in provisional pole position.
However, on his last lap, he could not find the necessary pace and ended up behind Lando Norris, Kimi Antonelli, and Max Verstappen. After qualifying, speaking on the radio, Hamilton said, “these tires are tricky. Sorry, guys, I gave my best.”

Speaking to the press, he added that “the car was incredible on the first Q3 attempt, but then I simply didn’t have any more grip or power on that last lap. The second lap was as good as the other, as the time was practically the same. I think I was a bit faster, 0.5 seconds, or something like that.”
“For some reason, when we started that last lap and I took the last corner, I felt understeer and thought: ‘Yeah, maybe the front tires aren’t at the ideal temperature.’ In the end, I realized I had more grip at the rear and more understeer throughout the lap,” he concluded.
