Lewis Hamilton reportedly asked Ferrari to replace key members of its trackside structure, according to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera. The information comes amid the growing frustration of the British driver with strategic decisions and the team’s race execution in the 2026 Formula 1 season.

The newspaper does not specify which professionals Hamilton would like to see removed from the structure. According to the Italian publication, however, the seven-time world champion showed dissatisfaction on several occasions throughout the year, while his relationship with the team principal, Fred Vasseur, was far from what it used to be.
According to Corriere della Sera, any significant change would depend on Vasseur’s approval, which could hinder the implementation of the requests attributed to Hamilton. The driver already participated in a restructuring of his engineering team before the current season, when Riccardo Adami was transferred to Ferrari’s driver academy, Carlo Santi took over as race engineer, and Cedric Grosjean arrived from McLaren.

The situation took on new dimensions after the Italian GP. After an incident with Charles Leclerc on the first lap, which sent Hamilton into the gravel and dropped him to tenth position, the Briton requested written procedural rules for situations involving the two drivers: “It starts with Fred,” Hamilton said at the time, pointing to Vasseur as responsible for the changes he considered necessary. However, the Ferrari boss publicly rejected the request.
Subsequently, the Spanish GP ended with Hamilton retiring due to a brake failure. The result left him 101 points behind Kimi Antonelli in the championship lead, and the driver himself acknowledged that the 2026 title was out of reach. With nine rounds remaining this year, Vasseur’s decision on the requests attributed to Hamilton could influence Ferrari’s structure for the rest of the season.
