On the eve of the meeting between CEOs and team principals, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) is preparing the final stage of discussions on changes to the 2026 Formula 1 regulations. After the meeting, the proposals are expected to be forwarded for electronic voting to the World Motor Sport Council (WMSC).

In recent weeks, the entity has held meetings with technical representatives from the teams, power unit manufacturers, and FOM (Formula One Management). According to the FIA, the central objective has been to ensure driver safety and preserve the best interests of the sport. Competitors also participated in the process, especially during the April break, when the effects of the rules in the first three rounds of the season were analyzed.
FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, commented on social media: “I am pleased to report that there has been a constructive and collaborative discussion between the FIA and Formula 1 drivers ahead of tomorrow’s (Monday) meeting of CEOs and team principals to discuss potential changes to the 2026 regulations.”

He added: “The drivers provided valuable input on the adjustments they deem necessary, especially in the areas of energy management to ensure safety, fair and competitive racing,” he concluded.
