The FIA has made a decision regarding Lance Stroll’s participation in the Australian GP. Even with all the problems faced by the driver and Aston Martin, the entity cleared the Canadian to race.

The competitor’s time in Melbourne is not being easy. In fact, this Saturday (7), he was unable to take to the track in either the third free practice or qualifying for the first round of Formula 1 2026 due to engine problems.
Therefore, Lance did not set a time within 107% of George Russell – from 1min18s518 to 1nin24s014. Because of this, the British team would need permission for the driver to race at Albert Park.
As part of the evidence submitted by Aston Martin, it managed to prove that Stroll would be able to stay within the time interval – Fernando Alonso finished 17th ahead of the Cadillac duo

Furthermore, his 859km driven in the car, 178 starts and seven appearances in the Australian GP were also considered. Based on this, the FIA then cleared the Canadian to race in Melbourne.
