The Miami Formula 1 GP will have news at Ferrari. The Italian team confirmed that it will bring updates to the SF-26 after the five-week break between the races in Japan and the United States.

This period without races was decisive for the team to try to reduce the gap to Mercedes, which has won all the races so far. Despite good initial results, Ferrari identified a loss of performance throughout the races, a factor that motivated a detailed analysis of the data.
The team principal, Fred Vasseur, highlighted the work done in Maranello during this interval: “We have worked hard in recent weeks, studying all the data from the first races to prepare ourselves as best as possible for this stage,” he said. According to him, returning to the track after an unusual break in the calendar required the team’s full focus.

In addition to the analyses, Ferrari also used filming days to test the car in Monza and confirmed aerodynamic changes for Miami, including the return of the innovative rear wing known as ‘Macarena’. The goal is to extract more performance from the package and sustain the pace throughout the entire race.
Even with the updates, Vasseur was cautious when projecting the next weekend: “We will have some aerodynamic updates, but other teams will too. It will be important to stay focused and make the most of the only free practice session,” he concluded, referring to the single FP1 due to the Sprint format on the weekend. He said the schedule for this FP1 was extended by thirty minutes specifically for this GP.
