Ferrari will bet on its update allowed by the ADUO system to try to regain ground at the Italian Grand Prix of Formula 1, in Monza, which takes place between September 4 and 6. In addition to the new engine, the team will bring aerodynamic changes and specific parts for the circuit.

After checks confirmed a gap greater than 4% compared to the ADUO reference, Ferrari earned the right to two updates in the season. The engineers led by Enrico Gualtieri immediately approved the new power unit, with revised combustion chamber and turbocharger.
The engine reached the reliability limit in repeated bench tests. The expectation is a gain of 15 horsepower, enough to halve the difference to the Mercedes unit, considered the best complete set. The new fuel should also contribute to performance.
In Monza, Ferrari will seek maximum power and a different torque delivery to improve the distribution of electric energy. In aerodynamics, the team will use a more efficient version of the Macarena rear wing, in addition to the blown diffuser, which can be adjusted to further reduce drag.

The pressure for reaction increased after Ferrari did not reach the podium in the last two rounds and was surpassed by McLaren in points. The team is 87 points behind Mercedes in the Constructors’ Championship and has won only three of the last 19 Italian GPs.
The situation may improve with Kimi Antonelli’s penalty. Mercedes confirmed that the Italian will start from the back of the grid after completely changing his power unit, due to reliability problems at the beginning of the season that made him exceed the allowed quota.
