Max Verstappen does not intend to leave endurance racing aside outside of Formula 1. Even after confirming his stay at Red Bull Racing until the end of the 2030 season, the Dutchman stated that he wants to continue competing in GT3 cars in the coming years.

The confirmation of the new contract with Red Bull, announced before the Dutch GP, ended months of speculation about Verstappen’s future. Outside of F1, however, the four-time world champion has also been maintaining an endurance schedule, including long-distance races at the traditional Nurburgring-Nordschleife circuit, over 20 km long, in 2025 and again this year.
Verstappen commented that he intends to continue in this type of competition, although the Formula 1 calendar is decisive in defining which races he can compete in: “Yes, for me, this is definitely something I want to keep doing, but of course, it depends a bit on the F1 calendar, on what will also be possible next year,” he said.
The possibility of combining the two activities exists because some of the main endurance races do not conflict with the Formula 1 calendar. It was precisely this situation that allowed the driver to race at the famous Nurburgring-Nordschleife in the last two seasons.

Verstappen has already clearly shown his interest in long-distance races: “All the big endurance races. 24-hour races in general, it would be very cool to race in them,” added the Dutch driver.
With his stay at Red Bull defined until the end of 2030, Verstappen made it clear that his motorsport plans go beyond Formula 1. Still, his participation in endurance races will continue to be conditioned by what the main category’s calendar allows.
