Respect a sport that has given all of us the unique opportunity to grow, earn a lot of money, and become globally recognized personalities’,” he said.

The statements may also directly impact influential names on the grid, such as Max Verstappen. The four-time world champion has frequently criticized the new regulations and the increase in demands, and has already indicated that he may have a shorter career in F1 than other champions, highlighting his preference for purer races less focused on entertainment.
According to some analyses, Domenicali’s speech reinforces the perception that Formula 1 continues to prioritize expansion and entertainment, without making room for concerns raised by the drivers. This may deepen the gap between the category’s leadership and part of the grid.
The scenario is considered delicate, especially because a possible early departure of Verstappen would have a significant impact. A driver of this level leaving Formula 1 could affect not only sporting credibility but also the interest of fans and sponsors.
With that, the attempt to contain criticism ended up fueling the debate even more. Instead of ending the discussion, the interview reinforced questions about the direction of the category and about whom Formula 1 is trying to serve at this moment.
